My First Post

I thought it would be good to create my own site to talk about what’s on my mind or what I am doing and make some services available to people. Where I can, I will try to keep the site light and accessible. If you have discovered an issue or would like to request something, please contact me.

I’m utilizing several networks so this site can be reached by people easily. I had some doubts about using HTTPS after reading a post from Michael Orlitzky but I decided to use it anyway.

I have a few social media such as signal and matrix for discussions around technology and communication with family and friends. I tried to avoid a few social media platforms like tiktok, snapchat, instagram, facebook, discord and whatsapp because I don’t want to be on them but have (at time of editing this post) been forced to use some of these. Running this site myself means I can express myself easier than I would be able to on these platforms at times.

At the time of writing, I am running this site on my own libre T400 that I flashed myself with libreboot (a BIOS replacement). I could have set this up on a VPS but I prefer it like this for now. I now host the site on a VPS with netcup due to various reasons with the most significant being network downtime on home internet connection being quite frequent and generally quiet slow.

A video from Luke Smith that partly inspired me to create this is available to watch on their peertube instance if you are interested. archive.org backup.
