Chinese Domain Spam Email
Having an email address especially one that is publicly announced like mine, you should expect spam emails. I generally don’t get many but this one was stupid and funny in my opinion so it deserved a short post about it.
The TLDR of the story is people trying to make you pay tonnes of money to supposedly purchase a Chinese version of your domain name before another company who is already interested in purchasing it gets it which can potentially effect the reputation of your site.
Initial spam email was sent to my three main email addresses which were listed on my homepage which as of 21/12/2025 are protonmail, i2p email (clearnet) and cock.li. Initial contact email is from thomas@chinanetservice.net under the name Thomas Liu.
(Please Kindly send this message to your CEO because this is urgent. If you believe this has been sent to you by mistake, please ignore it. Thank you.)
Dear CEO,
We are a Network Service Company which is the domain name registration center in Shanghai, China. On December 12, 2025, Baokang Ltd sent a request to register "diyarciftci" as their internet keyword and Chinese domains (diyarciftci.cn, diyarciftci.com.cn, diyarciftci.net.cn, diyarciftci.org.cn). But after checking it, we find this name conflicts with your company name or brand name. In order to deal with this situation better, it's necessary to send this email to you and verify whether this company is your distributor in China?
Best regards

My natural reaction as a normal person is obviously this is a scam. Why do you even bother to contact me? I don’t actually care if you buy a Chinese version of my domain. Also, what business in china would need a domain name with my name on it? My name isn’t some popular western name or Chinese or something. Already looked up on online for similar situations. However, on the off chance that this is actually legit, I decided to respond. I’d rather not potentially be a complete dick to a business.
Good evening,
I have nothing to do Baokang Ltd. My Domain name is for my personal site. The site name is my name.
Kind regards,
Diyar Ciftci
I then received a response from lishengning@vip.sina.com waffling on about some shit.
To whom it concerns,
We are the company who submitted the application to register "diyarciftci" as Chinese domain name and internet keyword. We intend to register the Chinese domain names "diyarciftci.cn" "diyarciftci.com.cn" "diyarciftci.net.cn" "diyarciftci.org.cn" and internet keyword "diyarciftci" and have submitted our application. We are waiting for Mr. Thomas Liu's approval. These CN domains and internet keyword are very important for us to grow our business in China. Despite Mr. Thomas Liu advised us to choose another name, we will persist with this name.
Kind regards,
Lisheng Ning
I believe wasting a scammer’s time is time well spent but I’m also a bit busy and lazy so I responded in a very offensive manner. I don’t actually have any grievances with the Chinese but I just wanted this communication line to end and them to just blacklist me already.
Good evening,
Unlike you chinks, I live in a free country faggot boy. Do whatever you want bing chiling bitch.
Kind regards,
Diyar Ciftci
Even after this, I got an email from thomas.liu@domainregistry.net.cn (assuming it is the same Thomas from before?) still trying to get some money out of me.
Dear Diyar Ciftci,
Based on your company which is not connected to them, we have already proposed that they should take a different name to avoid this confusion, but they insist on using this name as their Chinese domain names (diyarciftci.cn, diyarciftci.com.cn, diyarciftci.net.cn, diyarciftci.org.cn) and internet keyword. In our opinion, perhaps they run similar business as your company and register them to promote their company.
As is known to all, domain name registration in accordance with international policy is open to companies and individuals. Any entity is allowed to request any domain name and internet keyword that have not yet been registered. Your company have not registered these Chinese domain names and internet keyword, so any other companies have the chance to purchase them by registration. But in order to avoid this kind of conflict, the trademark or original name owner has the right of priority to register Chinese domain name and internet keyword during our dispute period. If your company is the original owner of this name and wishes to register these Chinese domain names (diyarciftci.cn, diyarciftci.com.cn, diyarciftci.net.cn, diyarciftci.org.cn) and internet keyword to prevent other people from using them, please let us know. We can send you an application form with cost information to help your company to register these Chinese domain names and internet keyword during our dispute period if you want to register them.
I look forward to reading you soon.

The guy sent me too many words. My response back was very simple.
Yes please sens
Only three words with one of the words misspelt. You wouldn’t think it but this still garnered a response. I am a master of deception.
Dear Diyar Ciftci,
Please find the attached application form. You can find the price in this form. If your company want to register these Chinese domain names and internet keyword, please fill out this application form and send it back within the next 5 business days.

File attached is here. I will say that I ran it through virustotal archive.org and nothing came up but I would still be careful opening it if I were you. I haven’t bothered responding yet and probably won’t.
I understand that a lot of scams are intentionally made with poor english and such just to weed out the people with a brain so they can focus their time and attention on the truly stupid as that makes more business sense but come on. I know I’m retarded but just leave me alone. To all the Nigerian princes, hit me up.
